The Virginia Alliance for Potbellied Pigs is a network of individuals devoted to advocacy for these unique animals.
Although many individuals are now part of the Alliance and actively taking part in rescues, adoptions, and animal care,
the two primary sanctuaries are listed below:
|
|
Gallastar, operated by Ron and Lorelei Pulliam, is
a center for therapeutic horseback riding and an animal sanctuary. Beginning with the
chance arrival of a pig named Ranger, the sanctuary has grown to house
over 100 pigs who would otherwise have no home. more... |

|
Pigtailz Junction, operated by
Mary Ann Piatkowski, is the home for over 80 pigs. This is neither a public sanctuary nor a
safe house to hold pigs until they are adopted again. This is their final home--they will never
fear abuse or feel unwanted again!
